Having trouble getting URL 127.0.0.1 to respond to the usual request for cups install....
First time I entered ...http://127.0.0.1:631/printers and received a
window which enabled me to start with ..admin
I was asked for ID and password which was refused.
After trying many times to get accepted I canceled.
I have attempted to retry the procedure many times(using google search) and I am now not able to connect to server 127.0.0.1.
I don't have a clue toward solving this weirrrrrd happening!!! :?
Prediction...This year will be a very odd year!

do you have the cups daemon running?
just so you know you should log in using your root user & pw to the cups config page.
make sure you add "cups" to the DAEMONS array in the /etc/rc.conf file.
if you want to start it w/o rebooting run /etc/rc.d/cups start
at least this is my guess as to why it's not available anymore.

Hello again Hapy!
I ran the /etc/rc.d/cups start and was able to enter the install program and entered my root &passwd.
The program provided did not list my particular printer which is a lexmark optra E but I was able to utilize HP laser jet 4 entry to enable it.
The printer is now working and I thank you for the solution to the perplexing failure to respond to a second entry into 127.0.0.1.
I still have one more step to perform..reboot and check again!!
Happy thanksgiving!!
