Re: linux-ck KC(PP)FLAGS

@graysky, _thank-you_, yes, that'd be lovely.

 make ${MAKEFLAGS} bzImage modules

That's the mystery god didn't want us to know. For some reason makepkg.conf is not used with kernel builds - I can put whatever optimizations in there I like and still get a working kernel.

You can but the the KC/KCPP flags will not used machine-specific optimizations.

Re: linux-ck KC(PP)FLAGS

So [1] and [2] have been dealt with. I guess I could leave this thread open, in case [3] would come up at some point again.

Re: linux-ck KC(PP)FLAGS

@algorythm - thanks for your persistence.  I have reverted the make line to the Arch default.

Re: linux-ck KC(PP)FLAGS

@alg & graysky

Thank you!  Learned something new and it piqued my interest enough to dig further into the world of k flags, well, maybe tomorrow smile

algorythm - I can't find data to support that they are doing anything nor can I find data to support that they aren't doing anything.

Re: linux-ck KC(PP)FLAGS

Right big_smile. How about just the file size? It changes when you use those flags.

Re: linux-ck KC(PP)FLAGS

It's not clear to me that file size or sha1 sum etc. is relevant.  I'm not saying no, I am acknowledging my ignorance.  I want to see a direct read that these KC/PP flags are being used by a compiler before I fuck around with them again.

Re: linux-ck KC(PP)FLAGS

Have it your way then big_smile. Your package anyway, but just saying that your pedantism is kind of redundant.
