missing application icons

Hi,

Please take a look at the screenshot. Why are so many icons missing?

It happened after I installed gnome3.2 from testing, but since the login didn't work, I reinstalled gnome3.0.

Can you guys help?

Re: missing application icons

Switch your icon theme to Gnome or any other complete icon theme. Tango hasn't been updated in a while and has less icons.

Re: missing application icons

Did you specifically try the Gnome icon theme and still have a problem? I find that rather hard to believe.

Re: missing application icons

First of all, have you downgraded your system completely! There must be some remnants of the testing version of gnome-icon-theme or such theming stuff.or try using dconf-editor to change the icon theme.(assuming you know how to use the dconf editor).

Re: missing application icons

thaks guys, i used gnome-tweak-tool to select the default icon theme. but the problem still persists. Also I don't think it matters if I use dconf of gnome-tweak-tool. But just to be sure, I double checked the icon-theme value in dconf.

Re: missing application icons

I too have this problem.  In the file: /usr/share/applications/dconf-editor.desktop, reference is made to the icon "Icon=dconf-editor" which does not exist, hence the missing icon.
