[SOLVED]Battery not draining correctly in Toshiba A215, pm-utils

My system is a Toshiba A215, I'm using Gnome 3.2 so I have pm-utils for power management things and CPU scaling via cpufreq. My problem is the following:

When I use my laptop on AC, battery reports 100%, so it's fine, but when I unplug the AC to start draining the battery, 5 seconds later I get a notification of Battery in Critical Level and the laptop tries to hibernate (I say "tries" because I haven't configured hibernation yet...) and it shuts down. First I thought my battery was wrong, but then I discovered that if I start the system on battery power, without the AC, the battery drains correctly. Also, Windows 7 is draining the battery fine and has no issues when disconnecting the AC.
In conclusion, the battery is fine, but there's some kind of behavior that I can't point to, that makes the computer think is dying when I unplug the AC.

Please help!!.

If you need any other kind of info about my config that can help in this issue, just ask.

Does your computer register other acpi events correctly?

Try acpi_listen and see what the output is when you unplug.  Also does your battery monitor show extremely low battery level or is it indicating critical level at high battery charge levels?

I'm assuming you have acpid installed and loaded at startup?

I was sure I had it, but I think that I uninstalled it in an effort to repair this issue, I reinstalled it and now I can unplug the AC without problem, thanks guys!

And answering clown's question

It was indicating 100%. Thanks for mentioning acpi_listen, not finding it made me realize I had uninstalled acpid.
