[SOLVED] Issue with GNOME Power Manager and suspending

Hey all,

I'm pretty new to Arch and have been having a problem with GNOME Power Manager (I'm currently running GNOME 3). Specifically, most of the documenation I've seen on the web says that in order to set up whether or not I want to lock my screen when I close my laptop lid, I need to use GNOME Power Manager by running gconf and going Apps > gnome-power-manager > etc... The problem is, g-p-m does not show up under the Apps directory in gconf. Now I have no idea how to access those options. I know I have g-p-m installed, as I have checked multiple times with pacman. Can someone please point me in the right direction here? I'm strongly considering switching to KDE over this.

GNOME Power Manager is a panel in System Settings, it's called "Power".
Another app you should take a look at is Tweak Tool

sudo pacman -S gnome-tweak-tool

As it let you further customize the lid closing behavior.

Hi,
you possibly don't want to edit "gconf" but "dconf".
The setting you want (lockscreen on resume) is described in the Gnome wiki here:

There are two ways to set it. Either you set the key for the option as shown in the code box of the wiki there, or you do

sudo dconf-editor

and scroll to the keys in org.gnome.power-manager.
The second way is nice cause you see what else you can set.

I actually just upgraded to GNOME 3.2 and it works perfectly now. Thanks for the suggestions though! I'll keep them in mind for future reference.
