Hi,
For me, the new alternative-status-menu from extra still don't work...
I can activate it with gnome tweak tool, but after a reboot, I fall on the "blue screen" of gnome and have to deactivate the extension.
Any idea?
Same here!

I have the same problem-blue-screen- as @Agamemnon. I have latest alternative-status-menu (3.2.0-1) and drive-menu (3.2.0-1). I don't understand why all the extensions stopped working after upgrade to 3.2.
There appear to be a number of - as yet - undocumented changes to the extension api that are causing havoc. Looks like new code is starting to surface but some sort of "official" guide to the changes in the api would speed things along... theme selector / alt status menu are pretty essential as far as i'm concerned... it's all gone a bit m$ at the mo

I have the same problem: none of extensions that I used with gnome 3.0 are working after the upgrade. But I managed to add some of them.
The weather extension worked simply by rebuilding te package from AUR (as indicated above).
I tried the same with the system monitor and with the cpufreq extensions, but initially this didnt have any effect. Although, no errors were shown in the gnome-shell log. However, after deleting ~/.gconf and ~/.config/dconf, these extensions are functional. The only drawback is ATM the preferences dialog of the system monitor extension is not working. On the plus side, all those settings can be done inside dconf-editor.
The alternative menu extension is working as well after removing ~/.gconf and ~/.config/dconf.
Maybe someone can try out whether removing both of these directories (or only ~/.config/dconf) is necessary in order to get rid of these incompatibilities issues

I try your tips sipik, but it doesn't work here... I fall on the error screen once again and have to deactivate alternative menu.

When will the dock extension work again?

Even deleting .gconf and .config/dconf if you have the alternative-status-menu dock active the gnome session doesn't start, i've tried gnome-shell-extension-pidgin-status and it works fine, it's here in aur: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=51033

Gnome-shell feels like useless without the dock extension working.

I was thinking the same thing when I first tried gnome-shell. However, I never used the dock extension since it lacks customisation. I now use docky (but I imagine any dock can be used). More customisable and functional. At least for me.

Thanks for the tip, this dock is a lot better than the gnome-shell-extension-dock !!

But docky requires all the old Gnome 2 stuff, isn't it ?

I've just found a page that has "some" info about the new extension API - is it just me or is the GS extension API currently running as the best kept secret on the net?

So can we use a dock like cairo-dock or awn under gnome-shell?

I deleted gnome-shell-extensions-common and all other extensions, deleted .gconf and .config/dconf and reinstalled the extensions. And now they work.
It didn't work by just updating the extensions. A remove was really needed.

Got dock extension working by commenting out 'this.actor.lower_bottom();' in extension.js. But I've just guessed, I don't understand why it does not work with this line.

That didn't work for me... :-/

post 42 WORKS!!
So i clean a 3.0 install on gconf e dconf by removing them as indicated on news post on archlinux.org. So reinstalled 4 ro 5 extensions that is used to use on 3.0; now i got it working on 3.2.
But just for explanation about using the 'new dock extension': I have on right side of the panel, when mouse is not hovering the dock it resize itself, when u put mouse on the black little window it expand itself and it appear as a old dock. So try these steps i did and as more important to what #42 said! Thanks
PS= select the dock extension(when modded extension.js in /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/dock@gnome-shell-extensions.gnome.org) the ALT+F2 and r. Now you should have on the right side a black 'box'..

Great it works also for me i've just comment out the line in extension.js and now the dock works, the problem now is to fix the alternative-status-menu, because it works just when it's activated but when you restart gnome it doesn't work, gnome crashes. I've also found this extension in order to move some traybar dock to the top bar, but it doesn't work for me: "error loading the extension" appears in gnome-tweak-tool, the link: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=53014

I've noticed now that before restarting gnome session the dock resized itself but after restarting gnome the dock remains always in the right visible

Here're patches on top of gnome-shell-extensions-3.2:
http://devio.us/~anarsoul/0001-Make-doc … -3.2.patch
http://devio.us/~anarsoul/0002-Make-doc … erly.patch
First fixes visibility of dock, second fixes dock menu (which appears on right click)

you should apply them to the Pkgbuild

I've submitted them upstream, so I hope we'll see them in original git repo soon.
