I am using KDE 4.4.5 on Arch64. Typically my USB flash drive (FAT) has mounted as /media/disk. However, a few weeks ago it started mounting with a really weird string of characters. After going to a Windows machine and scanning it for errors, this has fixed the issue a couple times. Now it has happened again except running Windows error scanning doesn't seem to help. Does anyone have any ideas?
Here's the output from "cfdisk /dev/sdb",
cfdisk (util-linux-ng 2.18)

Did you try changing the label on the flash drive to something without a / character in the name

I've always left it as "No Label" I think. I will install mtools and try relabeling...

Yeah...
[karam@nikolai ~]$ mlabel -i /dev/sdb1 -s ::
Volume has no label
Do I have to have a label?

What's the name of the drive in Windows? If you have certain special characters, it boinks the linux names.
That's why I choose simple 1 word names and I try not to have spaces either, although spaces are handled by linux easily these days
EDIT : Ooh ! my 1500th post.....
