euclid-wm : everything good about tiling

http://code.google.com/p/euclid-wm

I heard about this when wmdiem posted about needing testers when he first started steady version updates. Now on v98 (as of writing this) and in the AUR (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?PID=38311), this tiler brings together a plethora of useful features from several different WMs to create one, very useable, very simple, very elegant WM that I am now using 24/7 (even though considered "alpha").

Even if you're "set in your ways", if you like a good tiling experience, euclid-wm installs at .06MB and has only one dependency (x11) and is well worth a good hour or two to test run. The keybindings can be found on the project's wiki, or you can

man euclid-wm

to check it out before you run (just by adding 'exec euclid-wm' to .xinitrc).

Be Warned! this is not i3/ion3/wmii/dwm/awesome/twm/whatever, but a combination of elements from those that wmdiem sees as 'useful' and 'simple'. At this time, it does not support dual-head setups or custom keybindings, but if you don't need those things, or aren't put off in the name of testing (!) then, give it a whack! I don't find these as necessary drawbacks when you take into account the other things it does (and does well!).

BKL (wish I got paid for these shameless endorsements lol)

Since there is already a thread for this, there was no need to create another one. It would just lead to people having to look into 2 threads to find solutions to any issues that arise with them. The mods could have moved it from Desktop Environments to Community Contributions on request.
