you surely mean install flash from AUR and not Arch from AUR
how did you install flash? what steps did you follow? Did you get any errors?
Simply saying xxx didn't work for me doesn't help us at all.
What if I were to say to you : I installed it and it works for me
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

I would say yes as long as pacman is your alias for an AUR helper

You don't get anything from AUR with "pacman -S." Instead you need to follow the instructions given here.
I haven't done this myself, as I've a grudge against Adobe.

or you can use one of many available aur helpers

This works for me (Chromium):
#!/bin/bash
echo "Killing any Chromium processes..."
sudo killall -9 chromium
echo "Installing Flash Player 10 linux 64-bit"
cd ~
wget http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplayer10/libflashplayer-10.0.45.2.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz
tar -zxvf libflashplayer-10.0.45.2.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz
sudo cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/chromium/plugins/
# cleaning up:
sudo rm -rf libflashplayer.so
sudo rm -rf libflashplayer-10.0.45.2.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz
Adobe doesn't let you download that from their page anymore though (the direct link still works) so there may be security holes or something...

Holy crap guys, how'd you all miss this?
Anyway yeah, 64-bit flash wasn't updated to 10.1, and 10.0 has something like 23 remote code execution vulnerabilities, so there's no more Arch package. I'd go with nspluginwrapper, or run your browser from a 32-bit chroot.

So I shouldn't be using that 64 bit flash?

It just means that the 64-bit flashplugin package is now unsupported in the official repos. You can still use what's in the AUR, or an older version of flashplugin

Arch is not in the AUR. It is in [extra]:
> pacman -Si arch
Repository : extra
Name : arch

What I meant was is it unsafe to continue using it, with those vulnerabilities or whatever?

I'm usually pretty liberal about stuff like this, but any time software has 20-something public exploitable holes, I'd say it's pretty risky to use it. The risk is largely mitigated by the fact that Linux isn't as popular as Windows or Mac, so the exploits will be written for those OSes.
What I would do is install flashplugin-native64 from the AUR, and use an extension like flashblock to whitelist some sites you need flash for, like youtube.

Ok, I will probably do that. I don't want the hassle of 32 bit flash and nspluginwrapper. YouTube videos work fine with the 64 bit flash, the only problem is there's no audio because I disabled it because of that constant, super annoying crackling/static noise with my iMac >.< (I posted a thread about that but no one replied).

If youtube is your main concern, use html5 there. It's not as feature rich and is heavier on the CPU, but it works on most videos.

You could also replace flashplayer in youtube with your own web-mediaplayer, like gecko. you just have to install FlashVideoReplacer addon for firefox
