Hello all. I just installed a new ATI PCI video card on an old desktop (previously used integrated graphics card). When I start up with the new video card in place, I am getting the following message:
Kernel panic -- not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
Pid: 1, comm: init Tainted: G D 2.6.33-ARCH #1
(and a bunch of stuff above that which I cannot see)
When I try booting from an Arch live cd I do not have the same problem, but I do have lots of SQUASHFD errors. (Could be unrelated -- I was about to check to see if that is just bad media.)
Any idea where to start tackling this problem?
edit: I just put the live cd into a different machine and booted up fine. Also, since someone will probably ask, I am quite sure that I disable the integrated graphics.

Oh, I found another thread with the exact same title and problem as I am having. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=644201
I'll try the solution suggested in the last post. I guess I need to take out the graphics card so that I can start back up and get into the config files. I'll also re-install the ati drivers while I am at it.

Update: Neither of those things helped. Any advice?
Edit: Actually I did it wrong the first time. Disabling agpgart was the trick. Sorry for starting a thread where I talked to myself. I am marking this solved.
