What is the install size difference of 64 bit vs 32 bit? Just a curiosity, I was wonderingif anybody knew the installed size of a 32 bit base install and the size of a 64 bit base install, with all the same options, packages, filesystems, etc.

That would depend on what you install, wouldn't it?
so every opinion you get from now on will have their own numbers...thereby making your question moot.
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

I can't think of any reason they'd be very different. The 64 bit core .iso is 4 MB less (about 1%) smaller than the 32 bit core .iso, but looking at the package lists on a random mirror list shows many of the 64 bit packages being slightly larger, though usually only about 1-2% larger. Compare, e.g., here and here. Certainly I can't see any reason to choose one over the other on these grounds!

If you're that tight on hard drive space, maybe you better install Tiny Linux .

Not tight on drive space, it was just a curiosity.
