XMMS2 vumeter plugin ?

I want to install vumeter plugin for xmms2, but in needs xmms.
So, I tried xmms + vumeter.
But xmms package installs xmms with a Promoe interface.
When i just start xmms.. (without playing) it loads 40% (only xmms) of my old poor CPU.
Audacious when start playing consumes 50% of my CPU.
So, the only thing i haven't tried is xmms2.

Can I somehow get vumeter working in xmms2?
