Hi guys !
I need to install a im for my openbox setup . WIth emesene i'm having a couple of issues so it's not an option . With pidgin-light i need to install about 33 mb whereas with pidgin about 110 so it's much lighter .
What other options do i have ? I need it to have gui , support msn protocol , send receive files , i don't care about webcam and light .

Also try aMSN.
If pidgin-light does what you need, what's the problem with it? just the size of 33 mb?

he needs it to have GUI, so finch and Irrsi are out. I don't use any messenger except skype, so correct me if I am wrong

what's about online im?

You can modify the pkgbuild of pidgin-light. My installed version depends only on nss and hi-color-icon theme.

Kopete on this installation uses about 20MB installed but then again you need the kde dependencies.

I would have suggested something like Meebo, but I think file transfers are quite problematic in web-based im clients.
I haven't lost my mind; I have a tape back-up somewhere.
