[SOLVED] Ampache Server External Access

I recently set up Ampache on my laptop so I could have an easy way to access my music on the go. Other than NTFS partitions, everything is running smoothly with Ampache. I can access Ampache from any computer on the internal router at 192.168.1.5:60606/ampache. However, entering my external IP with the 60606/ampache port address yields a "Site does not exist" error. The following diagrams the home network:

Computer 1 === Verizon FiOS Actiontec Modem (Wireless turned off) === Computer 2
                                                          | |
                                                          | |
                                   NetGear WNDR3300 Wireless Router
                                           /               |                 \
                             Laptop --/                |                   \-- Laptop/Ampache Server
                                                    Netbook

This is the setup needed as the two computers hard-wired to the modem are used for day trading. I've correctly forwarded ports 60606 and 4040 as per the instructions in the wiki.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? I'm lost at this point. If you'd like any more information, please just ask and I will provide it.

Thanks
Matt

Not sure about the 4040 forward.  Can you ping through to your ampache box?   Does your forward translate the port correctly?

Re: [SOLVED] Ampache Server External Access

The 4040 forward is for Ampache outgoing I believe. I can't ping the Ampache box outside of the Netgear router, but on the Netgear intranet I can ping it from any other device.

Re: [SOLVED] Ampache Server External Access

I followed the guridelines on the Arch Wiki, for the most part, specifically the LAMP setup article and then the Ampache wiki page itself.

I think I might have been a moron, however: In the above diagram, would the Verizon router need to be run in bridge mode for the port forwarding to work correctly?

EDIT: Fixed. Had to use the Netgear secondary router as a simple WAP instead of an actual router. Moved all of the proper settings to the primary router and stopped using the WAN plug on the secondary router. All problems resolved on the networking end smile

Re: [SOLVED] Ampache Server External Access

Great!  It sounded like a port forward issue, but I wasn't able to figure out why.  You should mark the thread [solved] so people know. (just edit the subject on your original post)
