Hello everyone. I am expanding my security with ACL. This for I want to control the folder permissions using groups being able to have different security levels for groups.
I think I set it up correctly, but a user still cannot add folders while the other one can. User2 cannot. These are the settings:
fstab entry for the partition
dev/mapper/storage-public /storage/data/public ext4 defaults,acl,noatime 0 1
Users with groups
user1: network video audio optical storage GROUP parents vboxusers users
user2: games video audio GROUP parents vboxusers users
getfacl command on the folder
# file: storage/data/FOLDER
#owner: root
# group: root
user::rwx
group::rwx
group:GROUP:rwx
mask::rwx
other::---
Can some one advise?
[EDIT] Solution
The acl is working. The ... file manager isn't correctly working. I used emelfm2 and that didn't go right.

Mmm
I' still figuring it out. Trying tones of things I come accross the web with no luck. I removed samba in case it was conflicting.
How do you guys do this? It' a shared computer, multi users and some folders are to be used by some of the users and others by all.
