Like i said in topic title, can someone explain how to install it? And have people use it? I know that there is tomcat 5.5 in official repo. But i need this one(JSF). I get a headache trying to set this up in netbeans.
With tomcat 5.5 it was easy like pie.
And, BTW why there is no Tomcat 6 in official repos?
I get this error when i tried to add server to netbenas:
The <CATALINA HOME>/conf/server.xml can't be read.
I point server location to /usr/share/tomcat
I try to change permissions - FAIL
Reinstall - FAIL
If you make it work can you share it? Best regards.

Solution 1
---
Add yourself to tomcat group
usermod -a -G tomcat _your_username_
Solution 2
---
Try to change /etc/tomcat.d and /etc/tomcat.d/* 's permissions.
/usr/share/tomcat/conf is softlink to /etc/tomcat.d
tomcat.d has rwxrwx--- for tomcat:tomcat

Holy necropost, batman!
If you're having issues with installing Tomcat, start off with reading this. If it's still problematic after that, open your own thread and include as much info/details as possible.
