Detect Downloads

Using Apache, I was wonder if there was a way to detect if somebody downloaded your contents e.g. you uploaded an image, a user decides to download it, and that you are somehow able to see that they downloaded it like you see them viewing it in access_log. I want to be able to count how much times somebody downloaded this instead of having them click a download button, which they can by pass.

Re: Detect Downloads

Hello

The information is right in /var/log/httpd/access_log. It lists every request made on the server. There are several programs to parse this log and compute statistics, the best known is webalizer.

Cheers
