Hi,
I am thinking about setting up a box as custom router, because I can't configure my ISP's modem/router. I really want to configure the DHCP settings etc...
The problem is: I use VoIP and the ISP's modem/router has initial support for this. If I use it as modem and bridge all the data to my custom router, will I be able to use VoIP? How can I configure that?
I was thinking about the following setup:
[Internet] -- [Modem] -- [Custom router] -- [Switch with Wireless] -- [Computers and laptops]
+-- [Telephone]Is that the right way to go? Or should I place a copy of the ISP's router between my Custom routerbox and the Telephone?
Any tips, hints or pointers are welcome!

Does the built-in VOIP adapter have it's own interface? If it does, that goes into the switch. If it doesn't then I assume it uses the LAN IP. Make sure the LAN is set to DHCP or uses a unique address.

Ok, so it doesn't bother that my custom router is in between? It'll just forward all the VoIP packages to the switch, which indeed has an interface for the telephone.

My voip adapter uses a 192.168.110.x address. I connect to my voip provider using SIP. I did nothing fancy on the firewall to make it happen.
I'm running openwrt on the firewall, fwiw.
