No Sound

I have recently bought this computer and installed Arch Linux today. But for some reason, I can't get any sound. I'm still not sure about the card's model, but the manual says it's "5.1 CH HD Audio (VIA™ VT1705 Audio Codec)".

Re: No Sound

It turns out to be a "nVidia Corporation MCP61 High Definition Audio (rev a2)".

Re: No Sound

Thanks I managed to make it work again... At least for a few days. Now, it suddenly has extremely low sound. I can barely hear anything with sound all way up. Also alsamixer just removes my configurations. When I run alsamixer; I see only one bar, I change the card from default to HDA Nvidia with F6. I press Escape to close it. And when I run it again I see the single bar again. Also alsaconf says that I have no PnP or PCI card!
