[Solved] Ralink 5390 wifi

Hello,

I recently bought a notebook with a ralink 5390 wifi card in it. I am trying to make it work for a couple of days but with no much success...

First I downloaded the official drivers, but it couldn't compile.
After some research on the web, I found patches on the Open suse build service and after applying them it could compile.
Then some setting file was missing, so I had to copy "/etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat" to "/etc/Wireless/RT5390STA/RT5390STA.dat".
So now, I can see my card with iwconfig, and putting it up and down.
But, the weird thing is that it cannot find any network, "iwlist wlan0 scan" gives me "No scan result".

I feel I am pretty close to make it work, but that I am missing a small detail.
Any idea or suggestion on what I could have missed?

Cheers,
Eric

As I thought, it was just a small detail.
Turning on the well hidden wifi button on the computer solved it.
