Hi all,
I have just updated FluxBB to version 1.4.3. A list of upstream changes can be found at http://fluxbb.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=5003 Let me know of technical issues.
Greetings,
Pierre

Where is the "show your posts" link? That's vital for following up on threads.

Never seen that before. Do you mean the "Show all topics - Show all posts - Show all subscriptions" links in your profile?
Offline
also Mark all as read. I know that is an upstream modification and i kinda miss that one
is available only on the front page but not after clicking on New posts

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

It's nice that the New Posts / Active Posts etc. links are on top now, if it's possible to also place them on the bottom that would be even nicer.

Report these kind of issues at http://fluxbb.org/development/core/tickets/ As always I wont implement these just for us.

Sure no problem, i don't really mind the current setup though, it's more a 'like to have'.

No, there were 4 links at the bottom left of the index page, in addition to the 2 at the top:
Show recent posts
Show unanswered posts
Show your subscribed topics
Show your posts
The last 2 were very useful. Can you check if they are configurable via the administration panel?
*edit*
They are indeed the same as the links on the profile page, but it was much more convenient to have them on the index page.

I just wrote to litemotive about this and got a reply. As the time of updation got coincidently matched with my log in.
Show your posts was really useful tho' there are other ways to achieve this thro' search author or subscribing to the thread.

Never mind, the "bug" in the "show all posts" link is a feature. Bah.
Well, I'm very disappointed. I really think the previous functionality was much more useful. It let you see who had responded to your posts without having to subscribe to everything. *sigh*

Do not panic just a speed bump, needs some tweaking

@ Xyne
If you subscribed you didn't have to check any page, just your mail. You can auto-subscribe to a thread when you post. This feature is hidden in 'Privacy' tab in your forum profile.

@karol
I'm well aware of that. I just found that link much more convenient for following up on posts after a few days. I don't want to subscribe to every topic that I post in, only to unsubscribe after my next visit. I like to limit my subscriptions to topics that matter to me so that I can quickly check them when I don't have time for casual idling. Auto-subscribing to everything has an unacceptable signal-to-noise ratio, and all the extra emails from the server would just be wasted bandwidth and cpu cycles.

I agree. A useful feature is now missing
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

Isn't it in your profile as 'Show all posts'? BTW I think it's great, as previously you actually got topics not posts.

Another feature that I regularly used was :
Show new posts (This is still available as "New Posts"). But once you get to the list of new posts, there is no way to "Mark all topics as read". You have to come back to the index page and then click "Mark all topics as read"
Baah ! Humbug!
EDIT : It seems I missed wonder's post above which mentions the same thing.

That's the one that I miss the most too. It seems strange to have the "new posts" link available when you are already looking at the new posts, whereas the "mark as read" link is removed?
I have made a bookmark in my browser pointing to the mark as read script. It's an easy workaround. Maybe it's not the most elegant solution, but it's one I can live with.

@ Inxsible
So you prefer to have "show your posts" on the index page?
I agree that "Mark All as Read" is implemented in a really weird way. I simply don't get it.

Well New Post is still needed in case you have been staring at that page a long time and want an updated list (or you can hit F5 )

I am gonna do this as well.

Was just quicker, but I can live with it

Yes I don't either and it sucks.

+1 for the previous "show your posts", I don't want my inbox spammed with subscriptions, as I want to check them all once a day or so. The links in the profile is definitely not what i want, I want "Show the topics that I have posted in, and whether there are new posts in them".
Right now I cannot check for that unless I manually hunt up all topics I've posted in (sifting through all my posts in 'my profile') and subscribe to them.

@ hatten
Can you can automatically move the e-mails you get from your subscribed threads to a folder in your mailbox, so they don't sit in the inbox all day?
Offline
True, I could do that, but I would still prefer to have it on the forums themselves.
Found more or less a workaround:
if you go to "show all posts" you can see to the left of the posts if there is a gray/blue square, if it's blue there are new posts to the topic, though there is no link to the new post in itself, you have to either go to your post or the first page of the topic and guess which date you read the topic the last time, and read posts from there on (or read a post, and skip a bunch if you recognise it...)

I approve, but mainly because I always whore the new posts button
