Bind 9 named errors showing up in logs

Hello all.

I have a local DNS server on a computer that serves as a router for my home network. It listens only on the local network interface (172.16.0.1) and provides recursive internet queries and caching of those queries. It seems to work as expected; local machines (all on a 172.16.0.0/255.255.0.0 range) can look up each others host names and can access the internet. However, here's a snippet from my everything.log:

Feb  8 01:07:18 localhost named[2006]: error (network unreachable) resolving 'www.itrc.hp.com/A/IN': 2001:503:231d::2:30#53
Feb  8 01:07:18 localhost named[2006]: error (network unreachable) resolving 'www.itrc.hp.com/A/IN': 2001:503:a83e::2:30#53
Feb  8 01:07:18 localhost named[2006]: error (network unreachable) resolving 'paloalto.americas.hp.net/A/IN': 2001:503:ba3e::2:30#53
Feb  8 01:07:18 localhost named[2006]: error (network unreachable) resolving 'paloalto.americas.hp.net/A/IN': 2001:7fd::1#53
Feb  8 01:07:18 localhost named[2006]: error (network unreachable) resolving 'paloalto.americas.hp.net/A/IN': 2001:500:3::42#53
Feb  8 01:07:40 localhost named[2006]: error (network unreachable) resolving 'ns3.p23.dynect.net/A/IN': 2001:500:90::100#53
Feb  8 01:07:40 localhost named[2006]: error (network unreachable) resolving 'ns3.p23.dynect.net/A/IN': 2001:500:94::100#53

all of these websites I can look up either on the server itself or on other machines on the network and resolve them just fine. I'm wondering what these notices mean then? It seems to me that they're IPv6 addresses; is this the case, and should i be worried/do anything about them?
thanks.

Re: Bind 9 named errors showing up in logs

Do you have ipv6 enabled on the machine itself (dns resolver), but have no ipv6 connectivity?
