Just another (but maybe special) network manager startup freeze thread

Hi Guys,

i'm really sorry if this is a double/tribble/x-times thread, but i just cant fix this problem:

Im using a HP ProBook 6450b wd776ea and i got the following problem:
Ive installed dbus, hal and networkmanager aswell as the network-manager-applet and everything worked.

After this i used showkey to define my special keys and i think the program was corrupt, so it didnt stop (even after minutes) so i forced
a reboot by powering of the laptop.

At reboot first of all the dbus daemon started - no problem
hal - no problem
networkmanager - no problem
slim - freeze

so i removed all daemons and added them step by step and after adding networkmanager the system froze before it was up.

I reinstalled a lot, removed configs, read other threads, reinstalled dbus, hal and nearly everything else.
The situation atm is the following:
I can start, login, got internet via network (without manager) and if im trying to start /etc/rc.d/networkmanager the system instantly freezes and i
cant move mouse, switch to console and the whole system is frozen (not only the input-devices, just everything).

I would be happy if someone could help me, and if possible explain how to find a solution on my own next time?
