A little over 24hrs and we are at 300 people!  And FYI, the Arch crew represents 59.4% of those responses.  Which, is interesting in and of itself.  I posted this on the Gentoo forums at the exact same time and they represent only 12.7% of responses.  So does that mean that Gentoo has a less frequented board, smaller community, less involved community, or something else?  It could also mean that Gentoo'ers don't like to take surveys.  And it could also be complete random chance.  big_smile

They're still compiling their answers.

I loled smile

I do think these forums are more frequented, though.

Re: Linux Survey

At just about 350 people now!  I am hoping to get a little more of a even split between the distributions; so I am going to leave it open probably for the rest of the week .. unless I start to see those numbers more evenly distribute before that.

Anyway, here are some maps; much biger ones!

tN3BjcA  tN3BjcQ

tN3Bjcg  tN3Bjcw

Thanks for everyone's help thus far!

Someone asked for this on the Gentoo forums, thought it would be cool to post here as well.

Here are some maps color coded by distro.

May you post the number of users for each distro too?

Please remember that this is only representative of who responded to the survey, not market share of distribution.  wink

There are a few datapoints that didn't get lat/long data; so it is possible that someone else took the survey out there as well and that is not your response.  I have 2 or 3 datapoints without this data; but the rest of the data is in tact, so it's a non-critical bug.

Now I know where one of the Arch's without data came from though; will fill it in with some lat/long data for the next map!  wink

Hee hee, I'm a blue dot in Skåne...

I need a sorted list of all random numbers, so that I can retrieve a suitable one later with a binary search instead of having to iterate through the generation process every time.
