Hi,
I'm trying to get shared folders working with VirtualBox on a Windows host and an Arch guest.
It was working fine with my fresh install before I set up X or gnome, but after setting up X/Gnome I re-ran the VBoxLinuxAdditions.run so that I could get the X guest additions, and now I get the following error whenever I try to mount my shared folder:
# mount /mnt/h/
/sbin/mount.vboxsf: mounting failed with the error: Invalid argument
VirtualBox is puking pretty good on my syslog, which I've pasted here (something about creating a duplicate filename...).
my fstab entry looks like this:
h /mnt/h vboxsf uid=1000,gid=100 0 0
(And I get the same error when just running `mount -t vboxsf h /mnt/h`).
I've also tried doing `/etc/rc.d/rc.vboxadd setup` again, but to no avail...
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Have you added the Shared Folder under the Settings?
I dont have to manually mount the folder or put it in fstab at all because I have enabled the Auto Mount in the Settings itself and given it full access.
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

Aha! Good call. I had indeed enabled it and set it to auto-mount (just found it under /media/sf_h). Thanks!
(The wiki page kind of makes it sound like you need to go through fstab... I might just make a note of this fact there...

yeah, I think when virtualbox upgraded to 4.0.4, there were some changes made which have still not made their way to the wiki
