I use netcfg for pptp-tunnel with such profile:
CONNECTION='ppp'
INTERFACE='ignore'
PEER='shit'
PPP_TIMEOUT=10
POST_UP="sleep 2; ifconfig ppp0 up; sleep 2; route add default dev ppp0"
Sometimes interface (ppp0) fall because of some problems in local network. And netcfg cannot reconnect:
[padavan@arios script]$ sudo NETCFG_DEBUG="yes" netcfg vpnshit
Password:
DEBUG: Loading profile vpnshit
DEBUG: Configuring interface ignore
> vpnshit already connected
[padavan@arios script]$ sudo NETCFG_DEBUG="yes" netcfg down vpnshit
DEBUG: Loading profile vpnshit
DEBUG: Configuring interface ignore
DEBUG: status reported to profile_down as: vpnshit
:: vpnshit down [BUSY]
DEBUG: Loading profile vpnshit
DEBUG: Configuring interface ignore
head: cannot open `/var/run/ppp-shit.pid' for reading: No such file or directory
/usr/lib/network//connections//ppp: line 26: kill: `': not a pid or valid job spec
DEBUG: profile_up disconnect failed
[FAIL]
[padavan@arios script]$
After this netcfg becomes unusable.
If
