Kernel26MM is no longer in the package list!!!

Uhh... guys... The new MM kernel may be in the repo, but it is not in the package list. It can't be downloaded via pacman.

Re: Kernel26MM is no longer in the package list!!!

----------------------------------------------------------
[root@desktop ~]# pacman -S kernel26mm

Targets: kernel26mm-2.6.12.rc2.mm2-1

Total Package Size:   17.1 MB

Proceed with upgrade? [Y/n]
----------------------------------------------------------

Maybe your repos are out of date?

PS: I can see it has been removed from some repos, maybe a new package is on the way.

i can see it in the list ... you cannot do pacman -S kernel26mm? what error does it outüput?

the thing is that i install my locally built pkg for testing and keep it running (simply then uploading it if it works to the repos) ... so i for long did not do a pacman -S <something> where <something> is one of my pkgs ... if something disappears, i'm sorry if i caused it to disappear - in that case i would suggest you to post a bug report with an error-message what did not worked or went wrong

i will keep it in extra as an alternative to the kernel26 ... mainly because of 2 reasons:

- realtime features and newer drivers may be helpfull to some people around ... e.g. the pwc driver, dri-updates, acpi-updates, ...

- it's my running kernel (i almost only use kernel26mm) and therefore i can maintain it almost for no extra effort (the only trouble is my connection is unusable for the time uploading it - that is ~1h)

however, the update-infos will not appear in the "new and requested pkgs" but in "kernel/hardware issues" forms from now on ... and i should move the old update-infos on this pkg too - if i forget some, please mods/admins move them for me here, thx

Re: Kernel26MM is no longer in the package list!!!

The new one is kernel26mm-2.6.12.rc2.mm3-1. That's "mm3", not "mm2". It's listed on the Arch Linux front page, and it's in the repository, but it's still not in the package list.

Scarecrow: it shows up, yes... But if you try to download the kernel, you'll get an error, because pacman tries to download the wrong version - one that isn't in the repo any more.

And yes, the problem is still there... I upgraded to the new MM kernel (by downloading from the repo and installing, instead of downloading with Pacman), and look what I get:

[proteus@localhost ~]$ sudo pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
:: current is up to date
:: extra is up to date
:: staging is up to date
 dibble [################] 100% 4K 23.9K/s 00:00:00
:: kernel26mm: local version (2.6.12.rc2.mm3-1) is newer than repo version (2.6.12.rc2.mm2-1)
:: Above packages will be skipped. To manually upgrade use 'pacman -S <pkg>'
[proteus@localhost ~]$

Re: Kernel26MM is no longer in the package list!!!

Uh-oh... This also seems to be the case with all the newest packages. The repositories are being updated, but someone is neglecting to update the package lists...

Edit: Okay, Current repo list has been updated. Extra hasn't though.
