Network dies when laptop is resumed from sleep

My DE, if it helps in any way, is KDE.
As summarized in the title, the networking simply dies after I resume my laptop from sleep. It simply doesn't connect or even detect any network, wired or wireless.
I have so far tried restarting the networkmanager applet of KDE as well as network module itself by using :

 /etc/rc.d/networkmanager restart
 /etc/rc.d/network restart

When I use any of the above commands, the system attempts to restart the network module, but flashes an error of "fail" and quits.
I had googled this problem and found two or three significant posts, but with no results. Some people said that this is some long-retained bug.

I am looking forward to some solution. Please help me smile
