Hi all:
Like many fellow archers, i use pacman to update my softwares each day
often there's update such as this:
foo-1.1 ---> foo.1.2
i wonder if there's a way to see what has been updated from foo-1.1 to foo-1.2
or release note
explaining bug fixes or new features etc
something like pacman -Log foo

You can use the -c switch with a query:
-c, --changelog
View the ChangeLog of a package if it exists.
Note the if it exists...

Not that I know of with pacman per se, but here: http://www.archlinux.org/packages/?sort=-last_update , click on the package name, then choose "Package actions" to see all sorts of detail.
Philosophy is looking for a black cat in a dark room. Metaphysics is looking for a black cat in a dark room that isn't there. Religion is looking for a black cat in a dark room that isn't there and shouting "I found it!". Science is looking for a black cat in a dark room with a flashlight.

thanks everyone
i do know that i can go to the package website to check out the changelog
but it'd be really nice to access this directly from pacman so that i know whether to upgrade a package or not
or that i will become aware of any new features immediately

You want to update your system often. If there's a user action needed, you will be informed about it after the package gets installed (like pacman 3.5.0 pacman-db-upgrade).

you can report the post and one of the mods will delete it for you. Also no necrobumping..
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !
