Hey guys,
Last night I was setting up virtualbox stuff for all of the accounts on my computer and noticed that while I was logged under root, the gnome desktop actually had a My Computer, Home, and Trash shortcuts!
I thought it was very strange that there was a desktop folder but nothing ever showed up in my normal account.
It seems that only root is able to see these shortcuts on the desktop.
When I'm logged under my other accounts, all I see is the wallpaper and gnome panel really. Is there any easy fix to get anything in the desktop folder to actually show up on the desktop for all accounts?

Start posts in appropriate forums. Gnome3 is still in testing.

You just have to enable the proper option for nautilus to draw the desktop, I believe. Somewhere in dconf (not using gnome3 myself).

Added a command for 'nautilus -n" at startup of gnome and now it works great.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
