netcfg's HEAD fixed a ppp-related bug; why isn't it released?

I was having problem using netcfg's ppp feature, when I found this bug report and this git commit. The fix is pretty straightforward and useful indeed, so I wonder why it hasn't been released after nearly half a year. Are there good reasons for this, or the maintainer just forgot or is too busy?

The last 6 words most likely sums it up. Alternatively it may be that this single fix isn't worth cutting a release for. In any case, emailing the maintainer may help.
