Random logout

Hello, I have a problem with my laptop (toshiba satellite). It randomly logs me out, closing all my applications when I'm working, and brings me back to SLIM. It has done it a few times in the past, but this afternoon has been just weird, It did it four times in a row while I was working with QT creator (everytime it did, i was workin with qt). i don't know if it's related or not but I have noticed it happens just after clicking with the mouse or touchpad. I'd appreciate any help, I don't know where to start digging.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Random logout

Sounds like a problem with either xorg or your window manager/desktop environment. Post your /var/log/Xorg.1.log after you are logged out. Also, what DE/WM are you using and how are you starting it?

I'm using xfce since this weekend when I did a pacman -Syu (ignoring kernel26, kernel26-headers, gcc and it's libraries because I had problems compiling the kernel for my school's assignments with the last gcc), previously I was using gnome (just before updating)  and the problem happened once in a while. I use SLIM as my display manager, starting it as a daemon with the following .xinitrc

#!/bin/sh
#
# ~/.xinitrc
#
# Executed by startx (run your window manager from here)

if [ -d /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d ]; then
  for f in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/*; do
    [ -x "$f" ] && . "$f"
  done
  unset f
fi

# exec gnome-session
# exec startkde
exec startxfce4
# ...or the Window Manager of your choice

Which I guess is the default. I just followed the instructions in the archwiki. Thanks in advance!.

Re: Random logout

I believe you need Xorg.1.log because Xorg.0.log is from your current session (which hasn't crashed yet).

Re: Random logout

Update. I don't know if this will solve your problem but you really should keep your system up to date. The kernel and gcc should not be a problem so you should be able to just add those to your IgnorePkg list in /etc/pacman.conf and run pacman -Syu.

Re: Random logout

Try temporarily upgrading your kernel. If that doesn't fix it, then I am out of ideas and you should probably submit/reopen a bug report.

Re: Random logout

Hello again, my system is up to date except for gcc and its libraries and I'm still experiencing the Xorg crashes. Does anyone has a clue here?. Thank you. Just in case it could be important, here's my uname -a:
