Yet another microphone thread

well i have an issue with my internal microphone,since plugin in an external one works, my laptop model is an ASUS 1000H
i don't know how to enable it i've tried much writen in this forum but still haven't found a solution

well i've tried the volume stuff that is listed, if tried blacklisting the OSS modules, i've tried the one solution that required me to modify the alsa options file to specify what driver i need and i tried fresh installation several times and still no go

Sometimes ALSA sets the verb for the internal microphone input to the incorrect value.  This is a common issue on Connexant codecs, for example.  Try OSS.  It will allow you to change this easily in its mixer.  If you prefer to stick with ALSA, and feel like getting your hands dirty, use ALSA's HDA Analyzer and hda-verb.
