Hiya,
I'm having problems after a full system upgrade yesterday:
services are not loading
partitions are missing
trying to mount the missing partitions is met by "unknown filesystem type"
trying to load the missing filesystem modules fails
the list of loaded modules sure looks alot smaller than usual
Neither systemd nor archs native init-scripts will bring the system to a usable state. The system is in such a sorry state that it is hard to gauge the damage. Everything typed is echoed to the terminal, even whats written in /bin/login. pressing C-x in nano inserts ^X into the document. /var/log hasn't event been touched since the reboot directly after the system upgrade.
dmesg is full of references to "Unknown symbol mcount (err 0)" in relation to different modules and tries to load filesystems.
No other changes then a pacman -Syu ware made to the system which might cause this. This system upgrade was made about 20 hours ago. Im using core extra, community and multilib repos.
I imagine it could be related to http://www.archlinux.org/news/changes-t … cklisting/ but only soundcore-oss was blacklisted in rc.conf
This problem seems to be related to https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=119866 and https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=945777
Any ideas? Im terribly stuck..

Related to one of your problems : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=120538
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

Oh, cool. So /bin/login echoing and possibly the nano problem is not related to my main problem then. Thanks!
