Unable to make Realtek rtl8192CU because of missing linux/smp_lock.h

As the topic says, I am unable to compile the drivers from Realtek because the missing file smp_lock.h which was deleted from the newest kernel version.
Anyone know how to get around this problem?
I did look around in the Makefile in hope to comment out the line that called that file but I couldn't find it.

Here is a link to the driver if anyone want it or something:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dow … loads=true

Unfortunately is the download itself a javascript so I couldn't copy the real download link.

Re: Unable to make Realtek rtl8192CU because of missing linux/smp_lock.h

is there a specific reason you are trying to compile the driver from source? I believe that the realtek drivers are already packaged in AUR. Have a look at the wiki to find out which exact Realtek chip you have and use the appropriate package from AUR.

Re: Unable to make Realtek rtl8192CU because of missing linux/smp_lock.h

Included with my USB wifi dongel was a cd that included the rtl8192cu driver so I guess that is the one I need.
When I looked at AUR I couldn't find that version, only others.
I do not know if my dongel will work with other drivers.

EDIT: I found one package in AUR; 8192cu 3.0.1590-1, will try this one out.
Hopefully will it work, really need my xbmc to start workign soon smile
