[Solved]No Network Interfaces : ASUS Eee PC 1015PX

The installation on my new toy has gone fine so far apart from setting up the network, the netinstall disk couldn't identify my network devices so I used the core instead to get a basic install setup and running.

I've looked here at the older models and tried "modprobe atl1c" but still no luck. Does anyone know which kernel module I need to load in order to use the Ethernet?(Or WiFi - But Ethernet is more important atm)

Here is my lspci -v output if it helps anyone smile

Apparently, you will need to update the kernel https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/As … n#Problems

There are two solutions: install from newer media or download the package (and the necessary dependencies) from another machine and transfer them via some USB storage device.

You can get newer installation media here: http://releng.archlinux.org/

I tried that with no luck, however I did manage to get it working by compiling the atl1c from it's source. I'm still working out some general bugs with the machine but when I am done I will be happy to post a write up for other users. Is it possible to create Wiki Pages as well as edit them? I took a quick look but couldn't find the option.

Yes it is. Here's a wiki tutorial that might help you get started.

Thanks Inxsible, I don't think it is as high quality as some of the other Wiki articles but it should help other people with the same model netbook get it up and running easily. I'll finish the rest when I've got them set up on mine tongue
