[solved] Locked bars - xfce4

Hello

I've got some problems with setting up transparency on my xfce.

First of all, i've got composite manager running (Xfwm4 is doing it for me, xcompmgr doesn't change anything) and transparency is working, almost.

I've got no problem with setting it up in xfce4 Compositor settings (for window decorations and inactive windows). That's all. I can't change it's value in terminal and panel (when I turn it on in terminal, terminal is transparent but the bar is locked. In the case of panel it is not transparent and the alpha bar is locked as well).

Moreover, I can't make stalonetray or trayer transparent or faketransparent. '--alpha xxx' changes nothing, ''--transparent' gives an ugly, grey background.

to clear up what I mean: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15841305/whattf.png

why are those bars locked?

of course

[jin@mephisto thunar-dropbox]$ glxinfo | grep rendering
direct rendering: Yes

Oh, i've just figured out that even the bar for changing xfce4-panel size is locked!

but it still leaves the question why alpha and faketransparency in stalonetray/trayer do not work.

i've seen many strange errors in linux but this one is confusing me. any help would be appreciated smile

Re: [solved] Locked bars - xfce4

that was fast! thanks! downgrading gtk2 doesn't seem to be the proper way out, nevertheless it worked.
