Monitor settings for laptop and external display

I have a laptop running the intel video driver at 1024x768

I want to connect the laptop to an external monitor via cable. When the monitor is connected I want to change the resolution to 1680x1050.

I wont need to use the laptops screen once this is active.

If anyone could help me setup my

/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-monitor.conf

It would be much appreciated. smile

Re: Monitor settings for laptop and external display

When you connect  the external monitor you can simply run xrandr to set the new resolution.
