Accessing web server from "outside"

I set up a LAMP server using the wiki page, and created a (sub)domain at dyndns.com. I configured my router to forward port 80 to my computer, and I entered my DynDNS settings in the "DDNS" area. When I access my webserver by 'localhost', or my internal ip address, I get my own testpage. But, when I use my dyndns domain or my external ip address, I can't see my testpage. I can ping my dyndns domain however, and ping gets return-packages from
D97B19AC.cm-3-4a.dynamic.ziggo.nl

I know this isn't really arch-related, but, can anybody help me out?

Re: Accessing web server from "outside"

I had the very same problem some years ago. And, yes, it's not arch related. This happens to me regardless the OS I'm using. I think it's mostly a router-related issue than an operating system one. Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I can see your testpage btw!

Yes some routers don't have a loopback function, so they can't access local pages through the external address.

If it is the router, this should allow you to get a glance (or try a proxy).

I should've thought of that myself...

Thanks!
