Re: [SOLVED] Slim Question

Have you created a .xinitrc file under your /home/username?

Can you post your .xinitrc and your slim.conf?

Re: [SOLVED] Slim Question

Do you mean that slim is respawning and it should not be or that slim is not respawning and should be?
If the former, change the following in /etc/inittab

x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/slim >/dev/null 2>&1

to

x:5:once:/usr/bin/slim >/dev/null 2>&1

Re: [SOLVED] Slim Question

I tried your recommendation and with the first code when I type exit slim respawns but I can't login but can still get to a terminal with Ctrl, Alt, F1. With the second code slim seems to die but I can't get a terminal and it's just a black screen with an X as the cursor that doesn't move.

Re: [SOLVED] Slim Question

I can confirm this issue, both console and exit fail and generate the same error in errrors.log

localhost slim: pam_unix(slim:auth): conversation failed

I found this bug report
