networkmanager asks for authentification

Hello!
I have Gnome3, I use networkmanager with nm-applet to connect to my wireless network automatically when I turn my computer on.

Everything works, the problem occours when the connection is lost for some reason. I would like it to automatically reconnect. I think it is actually trying to do it, but for some reason, it does not have permission, it asks me for both the root password and then the wireless AP-point's password. The wireless password must already be saved somewhere as I do not enter it when it automatically connects at startup and neither do I enter root password then.
What could be the solution to this weird behaviour?

Re: networkmanager asks for authentification

/me watches with interest, since this very issue caused me to switch to wicd.

[EDIT: similar to this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=122624]

Re: networkmanager asks for authentification

Does anyone have any ideas about what the cause of it could be?

try to delete the networks from /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ and recreate them. i'm not sure what are you asking here.

why is asking the root password?

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Re: networkmanager asks for authentification

With the help of your suggestions I have solved most of my problems. It doesn't ask for root password anymore. I am not sure exactly which one did it, as I followed some instructions of the archwiki link about polkit and also added my user to network and networkmanager groups.

I found that /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ has two files: "MyConnection" and "Auto MyConnection". I compared them and found that they were almost identical, but one of the autoconnection file did not have the password part in it. I added the password to that file too and now I am not asked for AP-password anymore. For some reason, however, it still throws me the same window that previously asked for password, the password is already displayed now, but it still asks me to click connect.
