Arch64 on Samsung NF310 netbook?

Hi there,

As a previous satisfied nc10 owner I just got my nf310 netbook from samsung. It comes with the atom n550 processor which supports 64 bit. And now there's my question: Should I install the 64bit version of arch? I never really thought about it deeply with my other systems, I just installed 64bit if the processor supported it, but do you think maybe I will LOOSE some performance on my netbook other than having a little bit more memory usage  in comparison to 32bit? I should probably also mention that I upgraded the internal 1gb of ram to the hardware maximum of 2gb. Amusingly my main reason to worry with 64bit linux is STILL flash. especially on netbooks smile

what do you guys think?

Re: Arch64 on Samsung NF310 netbook?

I wouldn't bother, I see little advantage to 64 bit and it consumes almost twice the amount of RAM. That's my opinion anyways...

I would.  I have had little to no issues with flash on x86_64 as of lately (other than flash sucks in general).  At this point, I see no reason not to use Arch64 on all (3) of my 64 bit systems.  Multilib comes in handy when need be, too.
