Can I install x86-64?

Current I use i686, how to know - can I install x86-64 on my hardware or not?

Should work (afaik it's the lm flag). Just download the x86_64 iso; if it boots you are fine.

I see only one such a processor (based on cpu speed, number of cores / threads and cache): http://ark.intel.com/products/27462/Int … 3-MHz-FSB) - it uses 64-bit instruction set so go ahead and install the 64-bit version :-)

The lm flag in the output clearly says you can install.

Why does lm mean that you can install x86_64?
I thought the CPU itself had to be 64 bit. Doesn't he have a 32 bit?

'lm' means long mode. What do you mean "he has a 32 bit"? Where did you get it from?

lm = long mode. Try google to find out what it means in terms of cpu architecture.

Line 54 of /usr/lib/syslinux/com32/include/cpufeature.h says it means x86_64
