It feels great to be an arch linux user and thanks to the community for providing such a wonderful linux distro ..!!
First of all i tried and used arch on virtual box, everything went smooth. I was easily able to connect to the internet. Now i installed arch linux in my hard drive as a only OS on my pc. I installed it mostly the same i did in virtual box. But after installing i was unable to connect to the internet. I Followed the wiki as well as the arch linux handbook. I tried my best but still i am unable to log my computer to the net. I tried this stuff for more than 2 days now. I need some one's help to help me solve the problem. So that i can use my arch linux.

Virtualbox is a completely different environment, you can't compare that. Did you edit the network section in /etc/rc.conf? If yes, can you post it here?
Can you ping the ip-address of your router (if you have one)?

Please post the exact output of 'ifconfig -a'. If you have no Internet connection on that computer, save the output to a file and copy it over to a place where you can use the Internet.

litemotiv: i edited the /etc/rc.conf file and changed the host name and nothing else..!!!

There is a network section in rc.conf, how about that?

creative2innovative,
please provide the information that is being asked of you, so that others trying to help you can gauge what the problem is. You simply choose to ignore questions from karol and litemotiv.

You can provide any path you want, assuming you have the write permission to that directory. /etc is writable by root, not by user, so I wold suggest saving it in your home directory.

First you need to have something to copy, so save it to a file.

Why the hell do you want to write it to /etc ?
you can if you want to, but why ? copy the output to the file as karol suggested and then transfer the file to a usb key and the post it here using BBCode [code ] tags.
EDIT : and don't keep bumping your thread every 30 secs. Wait for someone to reply.

Ok, now that we have your attention ::
litemotiv asked to see your /etc/rc.conf, please copy the file to a usb key and then post it using any other computer that you might have.
karol asked to see your modprobe list
ls -1 /etc/modprobe.d/
-- show that as well
and I would also like to see the output of
uname -a
