Forums have been moved to a new server

We have moved our forums to a new server. You should notice a more responive site especialy during peak hours now. Let us know if you have any problems connecting to our forums. We also provide native ipv6 support now.

If all goes well the wiki and bug tracker might follow as well.

I also want to thank all those who donated in the past; without you this would not have been possible.

It might still break again as apaprently the bug that lead to this problem was not fixed.

Umm, what bug? I thought the forum search was giving incomplete results because we skipped rebuilding the search index the last time (because previously it took ludicrously long).

Re: Forums have been moved to a new server

No, it was skipped because it was not needed. See the linked news post at fluxbb.org. See https://fluxbb.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=5058

Re: Forums have been moved to a new server

Thanks Pierre.

I was logged in when you probably started, so I saw the message "Maintenance mode is on" normally where we see "There are new reports"
but even though I didn't log out, a little while later, I got the cat image. I thought as long as I don't log out, it shouldn't boot me -- at least that's what it says on the maintenance mode admin page.

thoughts?

Different server, different cookies, different session cache. Fairly easy to explain.

Re: Forums have been moved to a new server

There is a simple explanation: I just didn't copy the session data from the old server to the new one. As a result everybody had to re-login.

Re: Forums have been moved to a new server

Am I just confused over the quick new board or did something happen to the staff? Did I miss something or is the database reallocating mods on it's own?

I remember being annoyed curious why you're not listed under 'Developers'. I mean, you are a dev, you have a 'Developer' "tag" on the forums, so wtf.
But then I was like :-)

Did the main page news got an overhaul too? I preferred the old [more] link to get to the older news.
