Heya. Installed Arch Linux on my laptop just yesterday, and I'm trying to get thunar working, but I've run into a few problems.
1) The automount feature isn't working. I tried following the instructions on the wiki, but when I click on "configure", nothing happens.
2) I can't delete anything. It tries to put things into a trash bin, but fails. I don't really want to use the trash feature anyway, but the wiki suggested installing gvfs for automounting.
3) There aren't any icons at all.
A picture is worth a thousand words, and I brought two!
I'd appreciate it if anyone could help me with this.

1) Are you using udev rules or udisks along with some helper like devmon or udiskie -- I would go with the 2nd option
2) Have you tried installing gvfs?
3) Install some. Start with Tango icon theme
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

With openbox I needed gvfs and gvfs-afc in order to make automount & trash work.

Hmm, no that didn't work, jelle. I'm sure I just need some other component from Xfce, but that's not so important now. It doesn't show up on Thunar's side pane, but following the wiki's instructions for udiskie did automount the cd.
I don't want to use the trash bin at all, but I find that shift-delete works. It's what I did using Windows, so that's good enough! I also got the tango icons up and working, so that's everything. Thanks folks!
