hi to everybody
i have the following problem:
i installed virtualbox then executed
sudo /etc/rc.d/vboxdrv setup
all goes fine without any error so finally i've put it into daemons array
but at boot i get the error: "usage of vboxdrv is setup" or similar and vboxdrv isn't loaded .....
how can i fix it ?
thanks

it is not a daemon. Its a module. It needs to be placed in the MODULES array.

I thought that too at first (I think it used to be done this way), but I have it in my DAEMONS array. Maybe it depends on the version you use?
pacman.log:
To load virtualbox modules automatically you can add vboxdrv in your DAEMONS

But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist.

hmm that's new to me. I thought if you had a Arch guest, then you could add rc.vboxadd to the DAEMONS, but vboxdrv was a module. Granted, I am not sure if the virtualbox package has been updated since last night (my time) and things have changed.

vboxdrv is [also] a module. But as per the pacman output I quoted (from virtualbox_bin in AUR) I have it in my DAEMONS, and nothing vbox related in my MODULES. It's been this way for a while. I do seem to recall in the past putting it in MODULES though.

To load virtualbox modules automatically you can add vboxdrv in your DAEMONS
But I also have this ::
You must load vboxdrv module before starting VirtualBox:
[2011-06-28 01:41] ===> # modprobe vboxdrv
[2011-06-28 01:41] ===> To load it automatically, add vboxdrv module

maybe i should just move that script in /usr/bin to avoid the confusion. Pierre argued with me about that several times
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
