Fullscreen on youtube

Hello,

I am using the flashplugin-beta from AUR (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=47230) and have no bigger problems so far. (despite slow playback in fullscreen mode on nfl gamepass).
However, if I want to watch a video on youtube in fullscreen mode the flash-plugin uses the entire screen, but does not rescale the video. The video is in the center (original size), but with a big black frame around it.

Do you experience the same issue?
Thx for any tips how to fix it!

Re: Fullscreen on youtube

Not a direct answer to your question, since I don't use flash for watching youtube movies.

But if you go to http://www.youtube.com/html5 you can opt in for the html5 trial and see youtube movies in WebM format, just in case you didn't know that already...  By now, all the movies I tried to watch on youtube are available through html5, and fullscreen works fine with that too.

Re: Fullscreen on youtube

Thank you, I totally forgot about this new mode in youtube. This circumvents the issue and I get it fullscreen and correctly scaled.
However, using HTML5 uses 100% CPU in youtube/Firefox and my laptop heats up to 70°C :-/

Did you also try chromium to see if it has the same problem?

(EDIT: for me, both flash and html5 use about 40-50% of CPU in both firefox and chromium)

Re: Fullscreen on youtube

I haven't experienced this with the flashplugin from AUR.  I just tried it now and full screen was correctly scaled.

Re: Fullscreen on youtube

I think this issue mostly affects those with a dual monitor setup... or so I have noticed so far. I use a laptop connected to an HD monitor and the laptop displays properly when its alone but when the two monitors are linked together I get the black border. any fixes yet?

This was a necrobump by Arogers10 and since he has started another thread for the same issue, I am gonna close this one..
