[solved]NX quit working after update

Hello World,

The setup here consists of a MS Windows 7 machine as the physical console.  Two Arch Linux machines run headless, XFCE.  NX from nomachine.com and PuTTY are used.

Yesterday a system update, pacman -Sy followed by pacman -Su was done on one of the Arch Linux machines.  The process was logged using the script command.  The only problem encountered during the process was the need to remove /etc/profile.d/locale.sh.

The ability to connect to the updated Arch Linux machine using NX has been lost.  NX continues to work to the other machine.  PuTTY functions to either.

NX message

The NX service is not available or the NX access was disabled on host <Arch hostname>

The details button provides

NX> 203 NXSSH running with pid: 1372
NX> 285 Enabling check on switch command
NX> 285 Enabling skip of SSH config files
NX> 285 Setting the preferred NX options
NX> 200 Connected to address: <Arch IP address> on port: 22
NX> 202 Authenticating user: nx
NX> 208 Using auth method: publickey
NX> 204 Authentication failed.

The only log message I have been able to spot is in  /var/log/auth.log

Oct 23 15:53:38 localhost sshd[1133]: Connection closed by <Win IP address> [preauth]

The method for installing NX is from
http://gordonazmo.wordpress.com/2011/03 … archlinux/
It has been uninstalled and reinstalled.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

2011-10-26   The prior update was 6 to 8 weeks earlier.

2011-10-29   Solved by

mv /usr/NX/home/nx/.ssh/authorized_keys2 /usr/NX/home/nx/.ssh/authorized_keys
