postfix virtual "users" [SOLVED]

Hi there

I'm about to install a small server for a smaller company, and I plan to do it on arch.

I want to have a webserver, an e-mail server and an ftp server, as well as samba filesharing on the box.

What I want to do, is to make virtual accounts separately for the mail and the ftp server,
because I don't really like the idea of email users having unix system accounts even with a blind shell.

So I've decided to use postfix and courier-imap, which work well with virtual domains and accounts.

The problem is, that while courier-imap handles virtual accounts with athulib, and maps mailboxes correctly to
their users,postfix does not.

Postfix's "virtual mailboxes" and "virtual domains" point to the location of the mailboxes, so address mapping is OK.
But there are no "virtual" users, so I cannot authenticate on the smtp server.
(Example : if I want to have some sort of webmail, I need to have smtp authentication)

I've followed rougly this guide with a few modifications ( I don't use dovecot, I use courier-imap)

Is there any way to create a user database file for postfix, that it will handle?

( And no, I try to avoid using MySQL )

Tips?

Yes, i've read it. But in this case MySQL handles the user passwords.
I need something else. Like a hashed file with usernames and passwords.

Re: postfix virtual "users" [SOLVED]

OK, solved.
I've found a doc somewhere, it gives details on installing cyrus-sasl.
Sasl authentication cun stick to your imap authentication, so no "SMTP users" are needed to it.

I go sleep and maybe make a wiki page of this one smile
